In December 2025, Cornwall, Plymouth and Somerset Health Determinants Research Collaborations (HDRCs) hosted an online questions and answers session with Professor Sir Michael Marmot for professionals working in local government, healthcare and Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise organisations.
Sir Michael is world-renowned researcher, known for his extensive work on health inequalities and the social determinants of health. It was an opportunity to consider how local research can be used to apply the Marmot Principles and to tackle the avoidable, unfair and systematic differences in health that we commonly see across our communities.
