About us

The Research Funding and Intelligence team works to get more money for research in Somerset. We make sure we use and look at data in a careful and honest way.

We help teams find skilled researchers, put together plans to get funding, and support the running of research projects.

Together, we make sure all research is done the right way. This includes how we handle data – from sharing and storing it, to looking at it, reporting it, and publishing it – especially in areas related to the building blocks of health.

Our Goals

• More Support and Presence: Connect council services to research funding, evaluation, and training, and help everyone in the council use these opportunities.
• Data Management: Make sure we have strong systems for sharing, storing, and using data and evidence.
• Data Analysis: Give advice on how to link, use, and look at data for research and evaluation, and create tools and training to help with this.
